Overview
BFC serves as a comprehensive platform for high achieving Brown undergrads to develop their knowledge of finance and to successfully prepare for recruitment and a career in the industry. The members of BFC are a select group of students, usually chosen within their second or third semester at Brown, for their scholastic achievements, involvement on campus and demonstrated interest in the industry. BFC rigorously prepares its members for careers in finance through numerous activities and resources including weekly educational meetings, annual treks to New York, mentorship and mock interviews and an extensive alumni database.
Our Mission
Establish and grow Brown’s placement into financial institutions across investment banking, alternative asset management, and hedge funds
Connect Brown's talented undergraduates with leading financial firms and widen the range of total firms recruiting Brown undergraduate students
Provide resources and mentors for the interview process, allowing our students to be equally if not more equipped for interviews as those who come from undergraduate business programs
Forge new and strengthen existing relationships with Brown alumni in finance to encourage active participation in both undergraduate recruiting and the long-term careers of each BFC member
History
BFC was founded in 2017 by a team of students and professors interested in finance. It has since evolved into a comprehensive club consisting of a general body, various e-board members, and 20+ mentors from each grade. In 2025, BFC established the Brown Finance Club Cohort to recruit second semester freshmen and first semester sophomores interested in the industry. Since inception, the BFC Cohort has enjoyed near 100% placement into the top finance roles in New York, San Francisco, and Chicago.
